Self Sourcing / Nominated Both self sourcing and nominated labels are accepted providing the quality is approved and all requirements are followed. Details of our nominated suppliers can be acquired by contacting a member of the N Brown packaging and labelling Ensure before ordering your care labels you have confirmed test reports for fibre composition, Bleach and Dry Clean if applicable.

Own Brand & True Branded Own Brand product care labels must comply exact to the care label template within this manual.

Care Labels and Test Reports Care labels cannot be completed until all Tests reports have been finished for the following Mandatory Tests on Bulk production qualities: Fibre Content –Main, Lining, filling and substantial trims. All products. Bleaching for BOTH Chlorine and Non Chlorine Bleach. All colours – (If not Exempt. Please check the exempt list within the N Brown Testing manual). Dry Cleaning- If applicable for all colours. Ensure enough time for testing and care label creation is built into your production critical path so no shipments are delayed. All care labels and test reports are to be loaded to PLM system. 4. Other tests may be required- to be confirmed with QA

Considerations and Accountability It will be the suppliers responsibility to create the care labels with accurate information that is compliant and legal. If any details are found to be incorrect charges to rectify will apply. Ensure the care label is still readable and not effected by any dye or finishing processes. Ensure the details of the care label are not obstructed in any way and the instructions are clear to read The care label must be sewn into the garment straight and secure

Brand Name At the top of the care label the Brand name of the product must be printed. The Brand logo must be confirmed to be correct at the beginning of every season. N Brown Packaging technologist will provide the correct Brand Logos for all own Brand products.

KAFF Warning – KEEP AWAY FROM FIRE KAFF – Means Keep away From Fire The KAFF Warning must Always be placed below the size if Required. The KAFF is to be used on Adult Nightwear and ALL children's clothing. The size of the printed text should not be smaller that 10 points The KAFF warning should always be in RED

Cat Number The Cat number should be printed in BOLD The Cat number is unique to each product – ensure this is correct

Fibre Content The Fibre content is a legal requirement A test report on Bulk production fabric will confirm the correct fibre content to be stated on the care label Outer, linings, fillings and substantial trims should be stated on the care label For blends the list order is highest % to lowest % e.g. 60% polyester 40% Cotton. Note – And synthetic fur should be stated as Faux Fur

Symbols and Instructions Symbol and wording instruction order should ALWAYS follow: Washing Bleaching (requires test report) Tumble Dry Iron Dry Clean (requires test report) Any other special instruction required ALWAYS use the Symbols and Instructions provided by N BROWN

Symbols and Instructions Washing Bleaching Tumble Drying Iron Chlorine and Non Chlorine Bleach tests are required before completing the care label

Symbols and Instructions Dry clean Special Instructions Special Instructions may include: Wash with similar colours Wash with Dark colours Iron on Reverse Do not iron directly over print Close fastenings before washing Take extra care due to embellishments Dry clean requires a Test Report

N Brown Specific Details The specific details are required in order for us to Track, Identify and Ship Legally into other countries. The details required are: Supplier Number. This is unique to you. The quantity of articles in Polybag – This includes removable items such as Belts, Hoods, Inner jackets. E.G 1 x Tee shirt = 1 Pack of 2 tee shirts = 2 Jean with a belt = 2 For pairs such as gloves and socks 1 Pair = 1 and 5 Pairs = 5 3.
