“Day A” September 7, 2018 7: :51 Math 8: :53 Science 9: :55 Exploratory 10:57 -11:59 12:01-12:31 Social Studies LUNCH (3rd Lunch) 12: :33 English 1: :35 Please locate your seat

2 Activator Take out your homework, put your name on top and put it in the center of your group (Pgs. 8 and 15). Answer in your notebook: What is the least common multiple (LCM) of 4 and 10?

3 Objective I will be able to use fraction bars or number lines
So I can: demonstrate the quotient as a result of the division problem of fractions with different denominators. I will know I got it when I can independently draw and verbally discuss with my partners at least 2 real world mathematical models with at least 80% accuracy. 6.NS.1

4 Vocabulary Fractions Part of Whole Quotient
Multiplication, multiply, times Equally Common denominator Different denominators Least common multiple (LCM) Unit Form

5 Problem set 8 and 9a (7 minutes) pg. 16
Students work in table partners to solve the following questions.

6 Complete the rest of page 16
Students work in pairs to solve the following questions.

7 When fractions do not have common denominators, we can’t use unit form, yet…
We need to first create equivalent fractions, in order to find the least common denominator. Once we find the common denominator between the 2 fractions, we can use unit form and solve like we did in lesson 3.

8 topic. How do you feel?

9 Pg. s22 #3

10 Rest of pgs. 21 and 22 (7 minutes)
Students work in table partners to solve the following questions.

11 topic. How do you feel?

12 Complete page 19 Students work in pairs to solve the following questions.

13 Ticket-to-go Calculate the quotient, and draw a model to support your answer.

14 Page 20 Please remember to bring in your notebook, dry erase markers, and binders if you don’t have them already. I will make calls Tuesday if you don’t

15 Accommodations Read or reread presentation or activity directions, as needed or after prompting Use examples to model and act as a guide for emerging learners
