Idea was to only give support to countries to encourage and develop human rights
promotes the growth of the nation's ideals
Hoped to increase number of democratic nations in Latin America

Led to constantly shifting people in power
Results in the country falling into disrest

most of them caused revolutions and rebellions
Since independence, DR had over 50 presidents with only 3 that actually held peace

7. Aftermath of the DR Occupation
US withdrawal from the DR after WW1
Public opinion was against occupation and in June 1921 US Representatives proposed a withdrawal plan called the Harding Plan
The Harding Plan called for Dominican ratification of acts of military government
After withdrawal there was issues with custom revenues
The US and the DR signed a treaty on December 27, 1924

Dominican Republic's flag is the only one with a holy bible on it
Woodrow Wilson had a Doctorate Degree and was nicknamed “The School Master”
The Dominican Republic is a popular destination for weddings and honeymoons
