Language Objective By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use the language domains of reading and writing to communicate the academic math language of one-step equations. They will verbally communicate and write one-step equations by solving equations algebraically using the inverse operation to determine if their solutions make the equations true . They will show their understanding by successfully completing at least 8 out of the 10 problems independently or with their partners. Academic Math Language Vocabulary: one-step equation, algebraic equation, expression, inverse, inverse operation.
