1 AGA U2 Alternate Portfolio

2 OVERVIEW OVERVIEW: In this portfolio, you will complete the following graphic organizer (GO) explaining how the Constitution and its European influences support the modern concept of American citizenship and citizens’ rights and responsibilities. In the process, you will use primary sources to support your ideas from the documents discussed in previous lessons.

3 DIRECTIONS Fill in the first and last boxes (gray).
Fill in 3 of the slide with blue titles. When you do so, you will naturally explain how European documents influenced the US Constitution. Too, you will naturally discuss how these documents influence our rights and responsibilities as US citizens. You will consider these questions and use their answers as you complete this portfolio: What constitutional principles and/or influential founding documents support the creation of the U.S. Constitution? What are some of the most important rights and responsibilities outlined in the Constitution for citizens? Where and how are those rights guaranteed? What roles do American citizens play in their government? Use the links in p. 3 of the lesson for sources. You should use the grading rubric as a guide when completing this GO. Focus on the Analysis/relationship to citizens’ rights and responsibilities portions of each section. You should write multiple sentences here, clearly explaining the connections between the principle and citizens’ rights and responsibilities in modern society. Simply type your information right into the slides. Type as much as you need; you’ll have plenty of room to make your point. MAKE SURE TO USE COMPLETE SENTENCES WHERE INDICATED.
