7 Instructions Part 1 -Form groups of 3-4 -You will be shown many images from life during the Industrial Revolution -In your groups you will discuss each image for 1 minute

8 Instructions Part 2 -Select one group member to label each image and a 1 sentence description on the white board -Select one group member to write down your thoughts for each image on a piece of paper for group credit -After the 1 minute I will call for the boards to be raised. We will discuss them as a class

9 Many People moved from small towns to big cities
Why? Their Farms were being bought by companies They became tenant farmers There was more opportunity in the cities

10 Happy Farm: This is a farm where people lived freely and enjoyed nature.

11 Calm House: This is a farm house of a rich family during autumn.

12 Dream Village: This looks like a calm and peaceful town where everyone knows each other.

13 Rich House: This is how the super wealthy lived
Rich House: This is how the super wealthy lived. They had fancy art and huge houses.

14 The Room with no room: This family is living and working in a small space.

15 The School of Work: These young children had to work to help feed their families.

16 Children at Play: Young children are playing on a dirty street next to a dead horse.

17 Too tired to care: Many people are living together in a tight environment

19 No Personal Space: This family has an extremely tight living space.

20 Shanty Town: I hope there is no fire here.

21 The wrong side of town: This looks like a side street with many desperate people. Maybe a good place for a villain to get people to fight Sherlock Holmes.

22 No Shoes, Many Problems: Two poor young girls working at a cotton factory.

23 Haunted looks: These women worked in a tight environment making fuses.

24 Les Miserables. Looks like a lot of young boys working in a factory

25 Nuclear Holocaust? This poor area looks very poverty stricken and desperate.

26 Exit Ticket Write down 2-3 sentences about your personal views on the Industrial Revolution.
