1 Country Life/Villages George, Grade 6 EXIT

2 Most Indians live in the countryside. Indians live in small villages that are far away from cities, railroads and highways. Most Indians are farmers. Farmers work very hard but are very poor. Most farmers are in poverty because most Indians do not own their land they work on. EXIT

3 A village in India may have 200 homes. The homes are made of stone, mud or brick. There are usually 2-3 rooms in each house and the floor of the house is dirt. Many people live in these small houses: parents, young children, married children and their family, grandparents, and sometimes even uncles and aunts. EXIT

4 Children help out with work in the village. The girls help their moms cooking and doing chores around the house. The boys help look after the animals and help their dads in the fields. EXIT
