1 Osmington Bay Year 6 Residential

2 WHY ? Year 6 is a tough year for your children
Year 6 requires children to work cooperatively, supporting each other Year 6 children need to develop a rapport with their teachers based on trust Year 6 need to develop strategies to face fears Year 6 need to develop INDEPENDENCE To fulfil some of the requirements of the Geography curriculum

3 MRS HYLAND: Year 6 teacher. Has led many residential visits.
WHO? MRS RAWLES – Lead Practitioner and Year 6 teacher. Led residential for previous 2 years, amongst other residential visits. MRS HYLAND: Year 6 teacher. Has led many residential visits.

4 WHO? MR PRINCE: Volunteer in school for last 7 years. Been involved in scouting for several years (assistant Scout leader) taking part in number of residential camps with children. This is his seventh residential for the school. MRS ANNALLS – classroom assistant with significant experience.

8 WHEN – key information for you.
Children come to school with SUITCASE at normal time of 8.30am on MONDAY 15th OCTOBER We will meet in the hall. All medicines must be labelled with Child’s name Dosage Intervals Further Action to be taken Money in a NAMED purse/wallet/envelope ( A MAXIMUM OF £20 per child (anything in excess will be confiscated) The children will need a PICNIC lunch in a DISPOSABLE carrier bag which we can throw away once eaten. PLEASE ENSURE TRAVEL SICKNESS TABLETS ARE AVAILABLE FOR OUTWARD JOURNEY. – ie Packed Separately if not already taken!

Monday 15th October Departure from Grange Community Junior School at around 9am Scheduled arrival at Osmington Bay at 12:30 Friday 19th October Departure from Osmington Bay 12h00 and stopping for lunch on the way. Scheduled arrival back at school at approximately 3pm PLEASE NOTE THIS AN APPROXIMATE TIME. WE WILL USE PARENTMAIL TEXT

10 The Centre - Information
Beside the seaside. Located at the heart of the Jurassic Coast, Osmington Bay adventure centre has direct access to the beach and stunning views across the sea. All activities take place at the centre which is fully fenced and has security entrances. Children will be in rooms of 4, each with it’s own bathroom. They will be responsible for keeping the room tidy. Rooms are lockable but only adults have keys. They can be opened from the inside. The food is amazing. The children will have 3 cooked meals each day. The centre will cater for any dietary requirements.
