Medicines Medicines can be brought into school the week after SATs (Monday 18 th May). Please leave at the office and Miss Green will collect them in. Include extra travel sickness tablets! We may need them whilst in the Isle of Wight, as well as for the journeys there and back!. All parents needed to have signed the medicines form. Please label clearly with your child’s name.

Travel - Outbound Travel times (Still to be confirmed with the centre, more details when times confirmed): Leaving Alston School at 8:15 (TBC) – please be here by 8am at the very latest. Please allow the coach room to pull up outside the school gates. Travel sickness – tablet at home first please! Bus to Portsmouth (approx. 3 ½ hours) Lunch and visit historic ships in Portsmouth harbour. Ferry to Isle of Wight – 2:30pm (approx) Arrive at centre – 3:30 pm (approx) Group call text on arrival

Travel - Food Please provide for … Lunch – Normal packed lunch Include extra drinks … small cartons and plastic bottles are best – no fizzy or sports drinks please! A sensible amount of sweets Any spare food will be taken off the children on arrival, so only pack what you know they will eat!

Travel - Activities Remember once the main suitcase/bag is under the coach, the children will have no access to it until they arrive. We suggest 2 bags on the coach, one for food and one with ‘entertainment’ – books, camera, a few sweets, pens etc Tissues, a small pillow to make life more comfortable!

Little Canada Accommodation Accommodation is in log cabins. Each cabin houses between 4-8 children. Many of the log cabins have recently been updated and refurbished. The cabins are grouped together in small villages.

FAQ’s What to take with you: Valuable items – best left at home Leigh clothing list! This will be provided nearer the date of the trip, but there is a list on the back of the brochure you have been given. Pocket money – Around £25. Children will be given opportunities to go to the shop at Osborne House and when in Alum Bay.

Travel – Return Journey Travel times: Monday 15 th June Leaving Little Canada after morning adventure activities and lunch provided by PGL. Approx. arrival at Alston School is between 7pm and 8pm. (A group call text will be sent late Monday afternoon with a more accurate time.) Please be at school on time to collect your child.
