It's an element with a/an… •atomic number of 10 •atomic weight of •atomic symbol of Ne •group number of 18 •period number of 2 •group name called 'noble gases' The name for the element 'neon' comes from the Greek word for new (neos) Neon has 10 protons, 10 electrons, and 10 electrons It is also normally in a gas form

What did we do with the element Neon? We contacted the manager of a local neon sign company (Concept Neon) and ed them some questions we had about their product. We asked questions such as how they incorporated the element into the signs and what made their neon signs different than of their competition.

Neon is the second lightest noble gas after helium Stable forms of neon are produced within stars Liquid neon is now available and is used as a cryogenic refrigerant 0.0018% of the Earth’s atmosphere is made up of neon Even though neon is rare on Earth, it is the 5th most abundant element in the universe
