Info Regulated by EPA or states with adequate procedures and means to regulate First put into law in 1947, then was amended in 1964, 1975, 1980 and 1988 Allows EPA to control and regulate the distribution of “pesticides”, defined as any chemical or product used to kill, repel, or control pests. Broad definition allows products such as products to fight weeds, algae, or mold and also disinfectants, animal repellents and sterilizing agents.

Info contd… All pesticides of any kind must now have labels with both active and inert ingredients along with specific instructions on how it should be used, when, and in what dosages. Not complying to these labels is against the law and can lead to fines and/or imprisonment. Was put in place to ensure that pesticide use did not exponentially expand and to reduce the effects of the harmful chemicals in these products.
