Searching for wealth, gold, and riches. Slavery also becomes part of their wealth

Wars in Europe have created much tension that now extends to North America
Why did it start here?
The Ohio River Valley was being claimed by both countries

Great Britain begins moving further west (valuable fur trade)
France feels they are trespassing – begin building forts
Both sides begin forming allies – friendships – with various Native American tribes
The Iroquois (5 Nations) prove to be a very important ally with Great Britain
(Mohawks, Seneca, Oneida, Cayuga, Onandaga)

Great Britain sent many Redcoats – British soldiers to America BUT also recruited many colonists to join the fight
