Affordable water filters in developing countries

Real life problems 70% of our world is covered in water it’s hard to think that people do not have access to clean water. But of that 70% only 3% is fresh water. 780 million people don’t have access to clean water and about 2.5 billion people don’t have access to improved sanitation.

Goal Our goal is to make a affordable low chlorine water filter using a charcoal filtration system

How it works The start of the filter will be gravel some leaves and twigs. this is to get any large debris out of the water Next is sand, this stage gets the most fine pathogens out of the water Then it’s the charcoal. The charcoal gets any taste in the water out. Then the last stage is cotton cloth to get any pathogen that may have passed through

A large filter We want to make f a filter the can hold more than enough water to last one person more than one day. The way to do this is to use larger buckets and a larger storage unit for the water.

Cost The way to make it cost less is by people donating the buckets or water storage to a place we’re volunteers put the filter together. the charcoal can be donated as well and it can be portioned of for 6 months worth.
