2 What are some things that you notice and what are some things that you wonder?
Juan has gained some pounds since last year. Rashod is 15 lbs. heavier than Diego. Rashod and Juan weighed the same amount last year.

3 6.EE.B.7 I will be able to use algebra tiles.
So that I can solve one-step equations by solving an equation algebraically using the inverse operation, and I will check to determine if their solutions make the equations true. I will show that I understood it by successfully completing at least 8 out of the 10 problems independently or with my partner. 6.EE.B.7

4 Language Objective By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use the language domains of listening, speaking, reading and writing. They will listen to and verbally communicate with their partners. They will also write one-step equations by solving equations algebraically using the inverse operation and check to determine if their solutions make the equations true. They will show their understanding by successfully completing at least 8 out of the 10 problems independently or with their partners. Academic Math Language Vocabulary: one-step equation, algebraic equation, expression, inverse, inverse operation, algebra tiles, “rail-road tracks, multiplication equation, division equation.

5 Take your rough draft from yesterday and have your partner peer edit.
After peer editing, you will write the FINAL DRAFT on the RIGHT SIDE of your journal. Make sure you followed A.E.E. Answer, Explain and Evidence. Use the rubric on the inside front cover to see if you have completed all parts to earn a 4.

6 Pg. 125 I will model one more problem from the handout using the algebra tiles and then how to show that method algebraically.

7 How do you feel? topic.

8 I need to complete my handout

9 How do you feel? topic.

10 I can use my examples to help!
Homework: Finish the handout

11 Ticket to Go Solve algebraically: 12 + v = 19

12 Accommodations Read or reread presentation or activity directions, as needed or after prompting Use examples to model and act as a guide for emerging learners
