What is Separation Pay Separation pay is intended to assist members who are involuntarily separated under certain circumstances. Separation pay also exists as a retention tool assure service members compensation for honorable and faithful service.

How much is it? Dependent on rank and years of service.
Full pay is 10((12 x base pay)(years of service) Half pay is 10((12 x base pay)(years of service) 2 Half pay is commonly given when separation is in regards to a PFA Failure, Non compliant family care plan, or Clearance issue.

Exercise #1 As an E-6 with 10 years of service who receives 2, dollars in base pay. what would full Separation pay be? As and E-4 with 7 years of service who receives 1, dollars, what would half separation pay be?

What qualifies you for Separation Pay
Your specific SPD code At least six years of service Must be involuntary separation Association with the Individual Ready Reserve Not eligible for retirement Not separating under adverse conditions Finished first term.

What does not qualify Returning your C-way Quota
Leaving active duty during your first term Retirement Court Martial Separation by misconduct or unsatisfactory performance.

How do I submit Your command Representative will submit your working DD 214, PG 13 outlining requirements for ISP, the last 2 graded evaluations, and advancement profile sheet. All request must be sent to PERS – 93 atleast 30 days prior to the service member taking terminal leave.
