7. Mobile phone batteries
Ruby finds that her mobile phone battery is lasting longer for some activities than others. Rank these activities in order of energy consumption from those that use the most energy to those that use the least:

8. Global Positioning System (GPS)
GPS is a navigational system used in many devices. It gives:
current location
directions from current location to specified destination
distance from current location to specified destination
It uses signals from satellites to do this.
Assisted GPS (AGPS) has been developed for mobile phones. When the signal between the satellite and the phone is weak, mobile masts are used to identify the phone’s exact location instead.

9. Mobile phone types
There are different phones available for different purposes:
Fashion phones
These phones are targeted at fashion conscious people who use a lot of multimedia. They may have:
Bright colours
Ability to be customised e.g. change fascias
High spec camera
Ability to store large amounts of data e.g. photos and video
Speakers to allow music to be played out loud
Long lasting battery
Unusual shape

10. Mobile phone types
There are different phones available for different purposes:
Business phones
These phones are targeted at people who want to use them for work. They may have:
Slim, sleek design
Black or metallic colours
Large screen
Qwerty keyboard
Features including speaker phone and voice activated dialling
Ability to synchronise with other devices
3G for Internet access

11. Mobile phone types

Multifunctional phones
These phones combine both style and business features, appealing to the mass market rather than a niche. They have the best of both worlds:
