It can be caused by infections, cancer,
radiation therapy, damaged vessels and
damaged lymph nodes

What is it?
Causes the skin to get hard and makes it difficult to bend
What causes it?
Abnormal immune or inflammatory activity
Like other rheumatic disorders, scleroderma is believed to be an autoimmune disease. An autoimmune disease is one in which the immune system, for unknown reasons, turns against one’s own body.
