1 English Creative Writing Project
Mr. Beaudoin

2 Creative Writing! Mega Project “Writing is the painting of the voice!”
Creative writing: A type of writing that challenges the brain and tests your imagination. It helps with coming up with original stories or even spinoffs of other books. It allows one to see what they’re capable of coming up with and putting it on paper. Some people are naturally born with the need to write stories - others don’t, but everyone can learn. There are no limits when it comes to creative writing - it’s literally anything that comes to your mind that has a steady plotline.

3 . Now, creative writing can come in all different types of forms … believe it or not, it doesn’t just have to be in paragraph form. Stories can come in stanza/poem form, script form, paragraph form, etc. What’s nice is that you can write about anything that ranges from real life events or just a made up story you’ve come up with - the possibilities are endless!

4 Now, the assignment is for you to do some creative writing of your own
Now, the assignment is for you to do some creative writing of your own. There are no specific requirements since everyone thinks and functions differently. All you have to do is write, make sure it has a steady plotline, correct grammar, good punctuation and the setup of your writing goes along the lines of what you were going for. But if you are having some trouble starting out, here are some guidelines to help you:

5 • Brainstorm! As you well may know every piece of writing requires some sort of thinking and preparation. Think of ideas - write them down until you have something you want. • Draft it! After you have a steady idea of what you want, start writing it down. It doesn’t have to be perfect because it’s only a layout. • Check it! This is your time to edit and improve. Once you have the draft check for grammar and spelling. You can add or take away anything you want from it to make it better. You can even have people critique it and help you. • Final writing! Now it’s time for the final project. You have your draft - it’s how you want it and you’re ready to finally finish it. Make sure it’s neat and of your best ability.

6 Now, you don’t have to follow these steps - this is just to get you started. Your story can be anything you want it to be. It can be fiction, nonfiction, poetic, script, persuasive, informative, etc.! It’s whatever you feel most comfortable with. Just have fun with it!! Creative writing is all about being… well… creative!
