1 Journal Entry #22 Title: Hurricane
You have 7 minutes to write a story about what is takes to survive a hurricane. You must begin your story with one of the hooks you learned in class. Refer to your expository foldable. (SSQ-MAD) Write in complete sentences and use correct punctuation. Remember, format matters. Journals are due on Wednesday for a major grade. We will be checking for at least 15 journals, along with the correct formatting at the top of each.

3 Tuesday: Bernese: Bernese is capitalized as a proper noun (from the the city of Bern). Cleveland Avenue in Riverview: Names of streets and towns are capitalized. 5:00 p.m.: This is the proper way to write the time. collar on, and he: Collar was misspelled. A comma is added to separate two complete sentences with a conjunction (and). A subject (he) is added for clarity. If you, or anyone you know, are: Commas are added because extra information is provided in the middle of a sentence. Know was misspelled, and are is used because there is a plural subject (you, or anyone you know). him, please: Commas separate introductory elements from the rest of the sentence.
