1 Your Neighbourhood Consultation on changes to local services
Until 5th September

2 Why are we consulting? Reductions in central government funding
Needs of a growing and ageing population Mean the council will have less money to provide services in

3 What we are consulting about
The following services are being consulted on: • Bristol Community Links • Libraries • Public Toilet provision • School Crossing Patrols • Withdrawal of funding for Neighbourhood Partnerships – and the development of a new way for people to have a voice and influence CIL Supporting people worth around £4.7m which affect a number of services in our neighbourhoods.

4 Bristol Community Links
Services for adults with learning disabilities, dementia or other needs. Budget savings of £1.2m are required here. There are changes proposed to drop-in centre services, Community Links Centres and mini bus transport services The proposals also have a focus on developing skills for independent living and addressing the challenges of dementia

5 libraries Budget savings of £1.4m required.
The proposal is to reduce the number of libraries to 10: leaving Central Library, three Area libraries and six Local libraries – three different options have been outlined in this consultation for consideration. Extended out-of-hours access available at local libraries

6 public toilets Budget cut by £440k reducing to £30k per year
The proposal is to close all 18 public street facing toilets, raise awareness of the existing publicly accessible toilets and also set up a business/community toilet scheme. The council believes this scheme could double the amount of publicly available toilet sites in the city. These proposals do not impact toilets in parks which may be considered at a later date.

7 Neighbourhood Partnerships
Budget will be reduced to £309k per year. The proposal is to remove funding for current Neighbourhood Partnerships arrangements Focus remaining budget on: Supporting community meetings, Funding small community projects and Enabling communities to influence the spending of the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL)

8 Supporting People Services
The proposal is to reduce the budget by £1.8 per year. There are a number of different services funded from the Supporting People budget, including: supported accommodation for people with mental health issues or a learning difficulty, sheltered housing, advice services and “floating support” that supports people in their own homes. We have identified four options to manage the reduction in budget.
