Math Benchmark Our first math benchmark will be tomorrow, Monday, October 23rd. Please make sure you child gets a good nights sleep tonight, has a good breakfast, and is at school on time! Field Trip Tuesday, October 24th is our Field Trip to Discovery Place in Huntersville. If you have not returned the permission slip and paid for your child to go, they will not be able to attend. We will be sending home a reminder sheet Monday in the Take Home folder. Favorite Book Character Day is October 27th Your child should be finishing up with their Book Character Report. Please refer to the rubric on the back side. If you have any questions, please let us know. Spanish Phrase Our Spanish phrase of the week is: Integro– meaning Principled NO SCHOOL MONDAY, OCTOBER 30TH!!!! Teacher Workday What Are We Learning? This week our theme is Pumpkins and Pumpkin Jack. Math – Introduce (1.OA.7) I can use my understanding of the equal sign to determine if a number sentence is true or false. ELA – (1.RI.1a)I can ask and answer questions about key details in a text. (1.RI.2b) I can retell key detail of a text. (1.RF.2c) I can say each sound in a word. (1.W.3a) I can write a story telling about two events in order. Science – (1.E.2.1) Rocks – continue to explore and classify objects. Square 1 Art This is a fundraiser for our art class. This class is not state funded and is need of supplies like paper, paint, clay, etc. Square 1 Art is original art for your child and would make great gifts for Christmas or birthdays for family and friends! Pumpkin Contest: will be held Friday, October 27th. Why not get in the holiday spirit with your child and show off your family’s creativity! Halloween Parties Many have asked about Halloween parties. We are only allowed to have 2 parties per year, and due to the number of allergies, we have to be very specific in our planning. We will let you know when we are having a party if you would like to donate items or help out. PTO The 2017 Coyote Fund Raffle is still going. Please send back donations with students on October 20th and October 27th. All money goes back into the school for classroom materials and tools, playground upgrades, and Discovery Place Partnership for all students.
