PARTNERSHIP PROCESS 1)Good afternoon my name is Bruce Wilson and this is Steve Graham. We are managers with CF&RS. On the border with Scotland for anyone who has just flown in from the States This session is about our latest partnership agreement with the local Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. It will give you an insight into where we are with partnership working regarding community fire safety. What this latest initiative entails Where we see it developing With twenty years operational fire service experience, the common denominator for the majority of fires fatalities & other serious fires we have attended is the Mental health of individuals involved. Older and Vulnerable persons advocates are common in a number of fire services to assist in delivering community safety. Now is the time to improve assistance and monitoring of individuals and the communities they live in. By using innovative ideas, data gathering and sharing of information Cumbria feels it is pushing the boundaries of community safety.

3 AIM To help eliminate the risk of death and injury to people with mental health issues from fires within their homes through partnership working between CFRS and the NHS Trust

4 OBJECTIVES To identify at risk people in the assessment stage by the NHS Mental Health trust. Refer the individuals to Cumbria fire & Rescue Service Apply appropriate interventions

which can direct & drive a large number of community fire & safety initiatives
