use nets to determine the surface area of 3-D figures.
Today I will be able to…. use nets to determine the surface area of 3-D figures. apply the formula for the surface area of a rectangular prism as SA = 2lw + 2lh + 2wh. So I can... Calculate the surface area of real-world or mathematical scenarios I will know I got it when... complete at least 3 out of the 4 stations with at least 80% accuracy with a partner or by myself. 6.G.A.2, 6.G.A.4

Language Objective By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use the language domains of listening, speaking, reading and writing. They will listen to and verbally communicate with their partners on how to write and apply the formula for the surface area of a rectangular prism as: SA = 2lw + 2lh + 2wh to solve the surface areas of 3-D figures. They will calculate the surface area of real-world or mathematical scenarios. They will show their understanding by completing at least 3 out of the 4 stations with at least 80% accuracy with a partner or by themselves. Academic Math Language Vocabulary: Surface area, rectangular prism, length, width, height, three dimensional.
