4 Disease Definitions Cancer: cells that have lost normal growth control and that invade and destroy other tissue. Cardiovascular Disease: disease of the heart and blood vessels Stroke: sudden disruption of blood flow to part of the brain.

5 Disease Definitions Diabetes: a disease that affects how the body uses glucose. Vaccination: introducing a dead or weakened virus into someone to build up antibodies. Insulin: hormone produced in the pancreas that stimulates the body cell to use blood sugar.
