2 Monday, May 5 STAR Reading Test Vocabulary List

3 Tuesday, May DO NOW Pick one word/concept on the Vocab list that you do not understand, even though you have looked it up. Write it on the board

6 Board Races Divide into three groups. Form a line one after the other. The person in the front of the line begins. I will read a definition, or give an example, and the first in line must race to the board WRITE the vocabulary word. The first one done earns a point for their team. All three competitors then go to the back of the line. If no one can provide the word in 1 min., that word will go on the class needs list

15 10 Minute Prep Group 1: Standardized tests are necessary to ensure that all students are receiving fair and quality education. Group 2: Because there are so many needy and starving people in the world, whatever money you spend on luxuries should be given away to those in need. Group 3: In some places, school teams are sponsored by corporations. This practice should be banned to provide students an environment free of advertisement and corporate influence. Judges—please come to see me.
