My name is Mrs. DeVries. I have been married to Mr. DeVries for 25 years and we have two children.
I have my Bachelors Degree in Public Relations and my Masters Degree in Education. I like to spend my spare time with my family, reading, and running. I am looking forward to a spectacular year of learning.

4. Our Classroom Rules Rule 1 Follow directions quickly and quietly.

6. Chinese Immersion
I will be working closely with Chang Laoshi throughout the year to ensure your child’s success. Please feel free to contact either of us with questions or concerns.

7. Schedule Monday – Thursday
8:40am First school bell rings- Students may enter the school.
8:50am Tardy bell rings. Students should be in their seats.

9. Homework
Homework for English class is sent home on Friday. It will include: a one minute, fluency passage with questions, spelling activity and grammar activity.
Students are encouraged to read
20 minutes each night.
Homework is due on Friday.

10. Fun Friday
Every Friday, students who have completed their work in class and returned their homework will get to participate in our “Fun Friday” incentive activity.

11. Birthdays
The week of your child’s birthday they will be the Star of the Week. Every effort will be made to celebrate on the week that it falls however, adjustments may necessary for holidays and weekends.
Summer birthdays will be celebrated on the student’s ½ birthday. (June- Dec, July-Jan, August-Feb.)
If you would like to send a treat you may but it is not necessary. In keeping with District policy, it must be a store-bought treat. Also, please let me know of any food allergies that your child may have.
