Lesson Aim: To be able to confidently answer a controversy question. N.B. Source record sheets/word count. TASK: Re-cap: Lets make a big timeline to remind ourselves!

The results of the Truman Doctrine and Russia’s response meant that the any chance of future agreement hoped in 1945 had been swept away. Rigged elections in Eastern European countries by Communists – make a note and also put on your timeline, p29. P29/30 make a few notes on the crisis. Reflection: Why do you think Czechoslovakia was of psychological significance to the west?

8 Controversy Question (40 marks) – How do I answer it?
This will be on either the origins/end of Cold War. You will have about an hour to write this. It requires to use to use your own knowledge AND sources. Plan of Action! Look at the Q. Look at the structure. Analyse the sources. Plan the essay (for Monday) You can write up essay (on Monday and for homework).

What does ‘crystallised’ mean? Examples of American foreign policy? Whiteboards: How do you think we could structure this answer?

Draw yourself a table with these three columns – this will help you be clear and cross-reference.
