1 Plan Quick warm-up – talking about uniforms.(5 min)
Last little bit of vocabulary you should know for talking about newspapers. (5 min) Creating you first newspapers. I have a sheet for homework.

2 “Uniforms are very important”
Write down your opinion of the above statement in 2-3 sentences

3 Important terms to know:
Editorial – when the editor writes his opinion as an article. Exclusive – a story that one reporter gets and does. Circulation – people who buy and read newspapers. Classified– another word for adverts in newspapers. Very short – often for jobs.

4 Now you’re going to put that ‘article’ into a paper.
For homework, you had to write about your chosen activity and get a picture. Now you’re going to put that ‘article’ into a paper.

5 Masthead: Name your paper
Billboard: Bullet point important issues that will appear. Key points Strapline: What is your story about? Stick your picture in. Headline: Write big bold words to attract the audience. Can you make a joke, pun, simile, or describe what is going on. Byline: Sign your work Transfer your article to this page

8 Pick out the key words of your activity or article.
Billboard Pick out the key words of your activity or article. Verbs, cool images /ideas.

9 Strapline Very simply, what is your activity and what do you think, in a single sentence? EGs – ‘Anime is Awesome’ says Mr. Dunne. Make up is covering the nation. If _____ can do this, so can you. How smoking kills your insides, teeth and self-respect.

10 MAKE IT BIG THOUGH. Headline
What can you say to the audience. Anything as simple as ‘Just do it’ or ‘Go on’. If you can play with the words, make any jokes, puns, similes, etc. MAKE IT BIG THOUGH.

11 Byline Sign your name and start transferring your homework to that page (You may need to shorten / lengthen what your wrote)

12 Masthead: Name your paper
