Let others know what you are doing or where you have gone (example- picture to the right in NYC earlier this year)
Find out news faster than other methods
Find easier solutions to problems that are encountered throughout the day

4. Where do I stack up on the scale?
I not only use social media for personal use but also for business purposes, such as social media coordinating for Live to 110, and political campaigns for Bruce Rauner in Illinois.

5. The 8th World Wonder- Facebook
My opinion- this can be a wonderful way to keep up with the Jones’ and also a great way to find out what is going on in the world
This can have downfalls, nothing can ever truly be taken down from the internet, can cause serious consequences for teens and also employees. I have experienced this with school, colleges and high schools track your usage on software.
I do like that based on my likes on facebook I am given offers for shopping.
I use facebook daily, but it’s not always a good thing considering not everything you see is good
I do like that facebook is always changing, but I don’t like that my contents are easily tracked.
Another downfall of Facebook- this is “the stalkers choice” in the modern world. Not all privacy settings are actually effective, and not always guaranteeing certain people will not see the posts as well.

6. The new improved virtual Polaroid Camera- Instagram
I use Instagram several days a week
I feel that it is the way to see the world from someone else’s eyes, its always something new everyday
I have always had a positive experience with Instagram
Instagram has some downfalls like Facebook- can easily be seen by others whom you may not want to see. Instagram is also subject to having your photos used for advertising in foreign countries without your consent.

7. Pinterest- Modern Day Blogging, just less words
Pinterest is one of the modern blogging sites, using photos or quotes
I personally pin vacation ideas and bucket list plans, sometimes I get a little crazy and do a shopping idea pin board
This is a fun but easy way to keep up with friends, and also things you want to accomplish
One of the easiest social media sites to be around, using just 3 things to do to a pin (re-pin, share, or heart it which is the version of liking it)
I use it mostly at night before bed to relax
I personally have a pinterest which I use daily, mostly at night before bed to help me relax after a long day. Pins are easy to use and also up to date with trends.

8. Twitter- the interactive all day posting site
I personally have 3 twitter accounts and manage one business twitter account for a company in Los Angeles
Connect with thousands to millions of people by a simple hashtag (#awesome)
Limited by 140 characters, making it hard to have longer ‘tweets’ and get serious points across
Quick responses from companies such as Enterprise, when there are complaints needed to be handled
I have used twitter to reach companies several times, and to connect with friends when they are out of town
Personally when I use my own twitter I have reached over 300 viewers on my own page, viewers on BOTH of my “fun” accounts (country music related, and Taylor Swift pages). On the company page we have reached substantial amounts of viewers.
From my own experience I have had several issues resolved on twitter instead of sitting on the phone for hours waiting for a simple response, such as with Samsung on my latest update malfunction.

9. Why have a business card when you can get LinkedIn connections?
Connect with me!
Allows you to build networks with companies to increase chances of getting a job
Recruiters use these profiles to find candidates for new positions, or even for possible positions, I connect with others to build our company and to also gain insight on the field
Allows others to see your work history, skills, endorsements, degrees without the hassle of having to ask and wait on a response. Having this makes it a bit easier when connecting with companies or prospects, I use this feature the most on LinkedIn
I personally use LinkedIn about twice a week, mostly to connect with other companies or people who want to connect with our company
I have used LinkedIn for several years and I have now connected with over 1300 people, and also helped several other businesses with ideas, or even setting up their social media sites.

10. Google+ on a personal level
Not only lets you connect with the rest of the world, but also learn new things (such as a cooking page with daily recipes)
Gives you the opportunity to post to the public vs. your ‘circles’, unlike Facebook, I love this feature the most
I personally use my page everyday, but I do not always post everyday
I have always had positive experiences on my Google+ page
My personal Google+ page has over 500 people in my circles, mostly cooking, sports, and art pages. I find the simple pages make me feel more at ease compared to Facebook status updates about someone’s horrible day.

11. Google+ on a business scale
Personally I use Google+ for the company I work for we reach about 75,000 viewers a week
Promotions are done via Google+ for the company, and also all posts about how to Live to 110 are also on Google+
Creates an environment where it is easy to find what you are looking for using hashtags #LiveHealthier
Google+ makes it easy to reach audiences that may be interested in Live to 110 page, compared to facebook where they have to know the company name

13. The opportunities are endless with social media
All in all social media is a wonderful tool if used properly
Can be used to stay in touch, like my personal Facebook page and twitter
Can also be used to network with possible future opportunities, such as my LinkedIn profile
Can be used to find great ideas for dinner tonight, like my Pinterest page
Can be used to promote your business, or just vent about your day, any of these social media sites will work for that!
