2 THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE Drawn by the famous graffiti artist, Bansky. This won a merit in the Fujifilm student competition in 2005.

3 What is the purpose of this drawing?

4 The purpose of this drawing is to show that no matter what the obstacle is in life, there is always reason to believe that you will over come it.

5 What is the significance of the girl reaching for the balloon?

6 The girl reaching for the balloon shows that you must be determined to follow your dreams, and that you must be willing to work hard to accomplish what you want to in life.

7 Is there anything significant about the artist drawing this picture on the side of a staircase?

8 There is definitely a relationship between the actual picture and the staircase. It adds emphasis on the picture’s intention, which is to show that you must work hard to get anywhere, and sometimes it’s not easy.

9 How does color effect this drawing?

10 The use of grey in this particular drawing adds emphasis on the struggle this little girl has in her sad, depressing life. Bansky used the juxtaposing color, red to show that there is always something good that can come out of a bad situation if you are willing to work for it.

I believe that this does come from a credible source. No matter where this drawing came from, it would represent this same idea; regardless who the artist is.

14 It makes the audience believe that all goals are attainable if you work hard. Also, it makes the audience believe that you don’t have to be in a bad situation forever.

When first looking at this drawing I first felt inspired. The little girl depicted in this drawing has a very dull life, but she is trying to reach her dreams (represented by the red balloon)
