2 TIME ZONES 24 different time zones
It takes the earth 24 hours to rotate on its axis. The earth is a circle, which is 360 degrees. If you divide 360 by 24 (hours) you get the width of each time zone, which is 15 degrees wide.

3 Time Zones Time Zones were created to make travel by train more reliable. Before Standard Time, people relied on a town clock or position of the sun. Time zones don’t always follow straight lines. Adjustments are made for political boundaries

The primary time zone is Greenwich time (England) As you go West the time zone is 1 hour earlier As you go East the time zone is 1 hour later
