Applying for a Job

2. Resume Create a Resume Make sure to use your full name Address
Then include items that you think are important
Look over the lecture notes again
Print your Resume
Give your Resume to a peer and have them evaluate it and make corrections and suggestions - have them sign the back

3. Cover Letter Pick a job you can apply for right now
Print out the ad for the job or cut out of the newspaper.
Then write a cover letter to apply for the job - print out.
Tape the ad to the back of the letter
Give the letter to a parent have them evaluate and make corrections and sign the back.

4. Application Pick up an application from Mrs. Miller
Fill out the application for the job you applied for in the Cover Letter
Turn in the Application to the basket
I will evaluate it and return to you

5. FINAL Portfolio
Take a picture of yourself and create a cover sheet with your picture and name
Then complete a FINAL perfect copy of your resume - print on Resume paper (see Mrs. Miller before printing)
Then complete a FINAL perfect copy of your Cover Letter - again print on Resume paper
Complete a FINAL perfect copy of your Application - you need to get a new copy from Mrs. Miller

6. Creating the Portfolio
When you have all the items you need for the portfolio come and get sheet protectors from Mrs. Miller
Put your Cover Page, Resume, Cover Letter, and Application each in a separate sheet protector
Put your sheet protector in the folder you will be given and turn in.
DO NOT 3 HOLE PUNCH YOUR PAPERS
