Many of the wealthy lived in manors and some even had more than one to their family name They were usually large in size and built out of stone as well as surrounded by gardens Most would even have moats and high walls for protection

Manors would serve as a center for the kingdom in times of festivals or emergencies where many people would be on the grounds The wealthiest people in society had castles that acted the same way as manors, but were much larger and more resistant to attacks

It was the responsibility of the rich to assign jobs to lower class people working at their manors ranging from cooking and cleaning to training soldiers Nobles would also act as judges and punish criminals of the law as well as act as advisors to the King It was actually quite common for noblewomen to inherit land from their parents and women could do every job that men could, EXCEPT FOR FIGHTING

Many people would live on the grounds ranging from priests, hunters, jesters, cooks, craftspeople, servants, and knights-in-training (squires) In times of leisure, lords and ladies would enjoy hunting, dancing, feasts, games(chess), sewing, and reading

It was not all great for the nobles as they had to deal with: Gloomy and cold homes Little to no privacy Poor hygiene Disease The constant threat of war
