4. Revolts in the Balkans
Serbia – starts 1804 and by 1830 with support of Russians, Serbia wins autonomy (self rule) led by Milos Obrenovic.
Greece – By 1830 some Greek provinces become independent of the Ottomans.
Led by Metternich rebellions in Spain and Italy put down.

Rows 2,5 = play the role of a liberal in Europe and write a 3-4 sentence speech supporting why the conservative ideas of the 1800’s should be replaced, include what new ideas should be used in it’s place.
Rows 4, 6 = play the role of a nationalist in Europe living in the Balkans (Serbia or Greece) and write a 3-4 sentence speech supporting why the native peoples should break free from the old conservative rule of the Ottomans and have AUTONOMY.
