1. Edward O’Donnell Chief Data Procurement Officer IBM Transformation & Operations, Global Procurement
Ed joined IBM Endicott in Endicott as a buyer for hardware components in Endicott, NY in 1978.
He held various Procurement leadership assignments in Procurement and Manufacturing Operations supporting IBM’s Technology Division managing supply of hardware components to meet client demands.
At that time, IBM’s Hardware Divisions were in a period of rapid growth and he moved to upstate NY as the Enterprise Main frame Procurement Manager in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Years later, the newly formed Server Division named Ed as the Global Division Procurement Manager to aggregate worldwide demand and leverage supplier relationships as the focus on vendor and component consolidation grew.
IBM later announced the appointment their first Chief Procurement Officer with headquarter operations in Somers, NY. Ed moved to Westchester County to join the Procurement staff as Global Procurement Manager Policy, Practices & Strategy where he aligned the global procurement team to the new policies and practices.
Ed later focused as an indirect category leader of procurement including travel, administrative services, and technical services in the Indirect areas of Sourcing. .
Following that assignment he became Americas Client Services Procurement Manager serving Client Engagements in pursuit of new business and strategic operations and moved to South Beach, Florida location of IBM’s Latin America Headquarters in Coral Gables, Florida.
Since then, Ed led IBM Enterprise Transformation initiatives focused on Services, Hardware and Technology Products with a focus on data management, analytics, and Cognitive Solutions. .
