22 Assessment for IB subjects 3 types of assessment – all demanding & challenging! School- based  Set and marked by the teacher  Used for school reports, to check student progress and provide experience in final IB tasks  Unique to our school, though similar to past IB assessments IB Internal  Set by the IB and either marked or moderated by the IB  All IB students across the world complete same or similar task  Contributes to the final result for IB  Typically 20-30% of final result IB External  Final exams or portfolio set and marked by the IB  Completed in May 2017  All IB students across the world complete the same assessment  Contributes to the final result for IB  Typically 70-80% of final result

23 Assessment in the QCE program Assessment designed and marked by AIS teachers Moderated by Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority On-going throughout the two years of study Final result comes from assessment items completed throughout the two years Assessment is demanding and challenging!
