Academic profile will be based on;

Pre-Calculus 12, Ph 12, Fr 12, Spanish 12, Japanese 12, Mandarin 12*, Calculus 12, Law 12, Economics 12, and AP courses (cannot use AP mark plus mark in related course eg: AP Bi 12 and Bi 12)
* UBC will not accept Mandarin 12 challenge exam results

5. UBC Admission (Academic Profile)
BC Provincial Examination results will only be used if the examination result increases the applicant’s admission / scholarship average. However, in cases where a significant discrepancy exists (20% or more) between the course grade and the examination grade, UBC reserves the right to use the examination grade only. (64)

21. UBC Admission
Check on-line at the Student Service Centre for the status of your registration
You will be ed instructions on how to self-report your grades (this is mandatory and must be done April)

22. UBC Admission Self-report from two sources only; - Report card

List courses you are currently taking or will complete during your final year of high school
Provide grades only for the courses you have completed. Do not use interim grades.

23. UBC Admission
No on-line course grades may be used unless you have completed 100% of the course before February 1, 2017
on-line courses completed by June 30, 2017 can be used to meet pre-requisites but the marks will not be used in the calculation of your competitive admission average.

24. Marks Transfer
On-line, Distance Education and Continuing Education course marks are sent directly to the Ministry of Education after completion of half the course.
Students should ensure that final grades for these courses are given to their counsellors so these marks can be included in their transcripts

25. UBC Admission
Make sure you print out the screen showing your self-reported grades. If there are any discrepancies, UBC will request this print out directly from you
You will need to upload your report cards. Keep all documents you used to self-report grades

26. UBC Admission
With this information, UBC can start to assess your application.
In addition to the previous information, Grade 12 Term 1 report card grades are required from the Ministry before an admissions decision can be made.

27. Marks Transfer
marks will be released by the Ministry of Education in early May as long as you have given your permission before May 1 for your marks to be sent to post-secondaries
PSI must be completed before July 1 for your marks to be released by July 30
Complete the PSI choices on the provincial exam website. This is available NOW

28. UBC Admission
UBC will begin sending out conditional admission offers in May and will request acceptance of your admission offer by June 1 (May 1 for Sauder) including a deposit. You may receive an offer for your second program choice first or to UBC Okanagan.
Course selection is in June

29. AP – Advanced Placement
Transfer credit or consideration for admission average will be given for AP exams with minimum scores of 4 (86%) or 5 (96%)

30. UBC Financial Aid Major Entrance Scholarships
valued at up to $40,000 over four years
no separate application but you must apply to UBC before December 1
pay the admission fee and submit your grades as outlined when you apply to UBC

33. BCom Video Interview
The video interview is another way for UBC to assess an applicant’s suitability for a business program; business classes consist of discussion, collaboration and public speaking. According to UBC, your ability to communicate clearly is essential to your success in the faculty.
The video section of the Personal Profile is a way to determine how you can think critically, perform under pressure, and stand out from other applicants.

34. BCom Video Interview
There will be 2 video interview questions. You can try a “mock question” up to 3 times.
Once you push the “ready” button, you will hear the video question. Once the question has stopped playing you have 30 seconds to prepare. You have 90 seconds to answer the questions and your response will be recorded.
The questions will relate to your own opinions and experiences. Think about your past challenges and achievements, your strengths, and your beliefs. The questions are open-ended.

body language can be seen. Make sure
there is nothing distracting in the background;
turn off your phone, avoid music and other
distracting noises.
Check how you will look on camera (your
clothing, proximity to the camera, etc). Don’t

interview.

45. SFU LITERACY REQUIREMENT
FAL (Foundations of Academic Literacy) course mark counts for your Semester GPA but does not count as part of any degree program
students may not take a writing intensive course without successfully completing FAL

50. APPLICATION PROCESS
As soon as you complete your registration, you will receive a personal reference number. Print out and/or save this confirmation of your registration.

51. APPLICATION FEES
UBC – pay the application fee of $66.75 when you register (your registration is not accepted until UBC has your money)
SFU - within a few days, you will receive an from SFU with a temporary ID and password to log in to Pay the SFU application fee ($76.50) on-line with a credit card

52. SFU ADMISSION
Check for the status of your registration and “to do list”
SFU will send out an asking you to self-report your grades beginning in January.
Report final Grade 11 and Grade 12 marks, or interim marks for Semester 2 and all-year courses. SFU will allow you to self-report on-line course marks if you are more than half-way through course

53. SFU ADMISSION
Based on your self-reported grades, SFU will send out conditional offers of admission between February and mid-April – you are guaranteed admission as long as your final marks do not drop significantly

54. SFU ADMISSION June 3 – must pay deposit of $250
June 15 – confirmation of offers
