They have more natural resources than the northern part of Canada It is also much warmer than the north It is easier for trade

Canada speaks mostly English (56.9%) and French (21.3%) French and English became the languages of Canada because Great Britain and France colonized Canada

Pros Cons Maintaining a 2nd national Language – French – is expensive so Canada would save money Less arguments about language diversity of Canada There would be a gap in the country so the islands to the east would probably become a part of the US Tourists from French-speaking are attracted to the Quebec area because of its French speaking nature which bring in money, Canada’s tourism industry would suffer

Government Citizen Participation Power Distribution Canada’s citizen participation is a constitutional monarchy A constitutional monarchy is a democracy where people choose legislators who then choose the prime minister which is the chief of state and the monarch is the head of state In Canada, the monarch is the Queen of England. Canada’s power distribution is Federal A Federal power distribution is when power is shared equally between the national government and the local government.

Canada’s Head of State is the Queen of England {Queen Elizabeth} The Head of State is the leader who does ceremonial events such as things for the kids Canada’s Chief of State is the Prime Minister {Justin Trudeau} The Chief of State is the leader who makes the rules and makes the decision for the country.

Canada has a mixed-market economy A mixed market economy is where Canada’s business owners get to make their own decisions, but the government regulates and approves the decisions.

13 NAFTA NAFTA is an agreement between Mexico, Canada, and The United States in which countries don’t have to pay tariffs {taxes} on goods and services when trading among each other NAFTA helps Canada because it provides over 100,000 jobs in the auto-industry Without NAFTA those people would lose their jobs and cars would be very limited in Canada.
