Monday, January 15th is Martin Luther King, Jr. day, thus there will be no school.

3. One of the best ways we can support our children’s education is by encouraging them to read outside of school. Reading just a few minutes each day can make huge differences in all content areas. CES has limited homework so we encourage students to read daily. Younger students can be read to as well as read to an adult. Remember that students can read anything that is written material such as: magazines, comic books, paper or electronic forms. We encourage 20 minutes a day for 20 days. However, if that is too much start with 5 minutes a day and work your way up to 20 minutes. Encourage your child to write down their hours on their reading logs. Return the reading logs to school. Student’s pictures are put on the reading wall along with receiving charms and prizes.

4. DROP OFF/PICK UP REMINDERS
Since the weather has been cold, many parents want to drop their kids off at the front door. However this is a bus lane and between 7:30-8AM, there should be no vehicles dropping off students in front of the door. When you drop your student off in the morning and pick them up in the afternoon, please be prepared as to not hold up the line.
