Choose your classes for 11th grade Choose 8 electives Deadline for the programming form is Nov 16th

Everyone should have a: - Programming Sheet - Pen or Pencil If you do not have this, please raise your hand!! ** Make sure your name, student # and grade ** level are on your form!

4 Graduation Requirements
4 English 4 Math-include Algebra I + Geometry 3 Science- must include Biology 3 Social Studies- must include World History, US History, Economics, + US Government) 1 Practical or Performing Art 1 H.O.P.E. (Health + Physical Education) 1 Online Class 2 Foreign Language (College Bound Students) 8 Electives Reading courses will be scheduled as needed Students will be placed in appropriate academic courses to ensure academic success.

5 Additional Goals By the time you graduate from East Bay, you should have attempted one or more of the following: Pass an AP exam Pass a Dual Enrollment class with a C or higher Earn a CTE certification

6 Seal Of Biliteracy GOLD SEAL
Four years of foreign language with at least a B in these courses. And a level 4 or higher on the grade 10 FSA assessment. SILVER SEAL Four years of foreign language with at least a B in these courses.

7 Schedule Change Policy
Schedule changes will be made automatically for the following reasons: Completion of a summer school course (Florida Virtual/HVS) Incomplete schedule (missing a class); including a missing core class Two courses in the same period in the same semester Failure of a prerequisite course Master schedule conflict; including master schedule changes due to enrollment Dual Enrollment (once approved) Senior needing a graduation requirement To balance classes so that overcrowding does not occur Schedules will not be changed for the following reasons: Student/parent does not like the teacher To have classes with friends Teacher is ‘too hard’ or ‘too easy’ Teacher does not like a student/parent The teacher gives too much work Student/parent change interest after ‘trying out’ a class Requesting a different lunch

8 English If you are in English 2 Regular, you will write English 3 and circle Regular. English 2  English 3 If you are in English 2 Honors, you will write English 3 and circle Honors or write AP English Language. English 2 Honors  English 3 Honors or English 2 Honors  AP English Language Teacher recommendation is required for Honors and AP courses

9 Math If you are in Liberal Arts Math, you will write Geometry and circle Regular. Liberal Arts Math  Geometry If you are in Geometry Regular or Honors with a C/D/F, you will write Advanced Topics and circle Regular. Geometry (C,D,F) Advanced Topics If you are in Geometry Regular or Honors with a A/B, you will write Algebra 2 and circle Regular or Honors. Geometry Honors  Algebra 2 Regular or Honors If you are in Algebra 2 or Algebra 2 Honors, you will need the recommendation of your math teacher. Teacher recommendation is required for all math courses

10 Science If you are in Physical Science, you will write Earth Space or Chemistry and circle Regular. If you have A/B in Geo you will go to Chem, If you are in Liberal Arts Math you will go to Earth Space Physical Science  Earth Space or Chemistry If you are in Chemistry honors, you will write Physics and circle Honors. You must have complete Alg 2. ATM Math Students will go to Physics Regular Chemistry Honors  Physics Honors If you are interested in another Science class, ask your Science teacher. Teacher recommendation is required for Honors and AP courses

11 Social Studies If you are in World History Regular, you will write U.S. History and circle Regular. World History  U.S. History If you are in World History Honors, you will write U.S. History and circle Honors. World History Honors  U.S. History Honors If you are in AP World History, you will write U.S. History and circle AP. AP World History  AP U.S. History Teacher recommendation is required for Honors and AP courses

12 Reading You will be placed in a reading course until you have met the FSA ELA graduation benchmark. This can be accomplished by the following: Get a passing score on the FSA ELA Assessment Level 3 – 350 or higher Get a Concordant score through SAT or ACT SAT Reading/Writing – 430 SAT Reading Subscore – 24 ACT Reading Subscore - 19

13 Electives You must list 8 electives- please write neatly!!
If you pick a semester elective, you must choose a second to pair with the first. Semester classes are marked with an Asterisk(*). Consider… Have you completed your practical/performing art? (PF) Have you completed HOPE? Have you started a foreign language? Are you working towards being a program completer?

15 FLVS and OJT Periods How do I get a Virtual Period? OJT
You are at or above 25% complete with the course and have a passing grade by the elective change deadline. You have transportation to either come to school late or leave early. You can get one virtual period for each course that meets the requirements. OJT Must have a JOB where you receive a check that deducts taxes. Must have met all graduation assessments (ALG 1 and FSA ELA) Must have a minimum of a 2.0 GPA and you are not be behind on any credits.

16 Acceleration Points All East Bay High School students are expected to earn acceleration points by the time they graduate. Acceleration points can be earned by: Passing an AP exam Passing a Dual Enrollment class with a C or higher Earning a CTE certification Culinary Digital Information Technology/Accounting/Web Design Veterinary Automotive Customer Service (formally Administrative Office Tech)

17 Important notes… This is YOUR opportunity to choose your classes for 11th grade!! Think carefully…we all know schedule changes are hard to come by. You must turn in the form with signatures from both your teachers and parents.

18 What’s next… Make sure that all blanks are filled in.
Sign your programming sheet. Elective and AP fair during lunches. Get your teacher’s signature/ approval for classes during academic advising days November 9th-15th. Get your parent’s signature. Turn in your completed programming sheet to your English Teacher by November 16.
