2. What is MyWritingLabPlus?
MyWritingLabPlus is an online program designed to help you with writing and grammar necessary for persuasive, logical, and effective writing.
The online program allows you to work on grammar, mechanics, writing, and research skills.
MyWritingLabPlus is used in a variety of courses at CSUB, ranging from English to Business to Biology.
MyWritingLabPlus supports different learning styles as well, utilizing audio files, videos, and interactive exercises.

3. Topics There are 10 topics that are available.
Your instructor may assign topics for you to complete.
For more information about which topics you are required to complete, please ask your instructor.

4. First time logging in
User: CSUB ID ( )
Password: Click “Forgot your password”
Remember to use Firefox or Google Chrome as your web browser!

5. Forgot your password Your username is your 9-digit CSUB ID #
If you don’t see an after a few hours, try resetting your password again.
If you do not receive an , please contact the CSUB IT Helpdesk

You will then need to check your CSUB Outlook

6. Check your outlook To reset your password, click Reset password
You may have to check your Junk or Clutter folder

7. Changing password Enter your new password and click continue!
You can now sign in to the MyWritingLabPlus website with your new password

8. After signing in
After logging in, be sure to click on your current section of Early Start. If you are enrolled in more than one ESE session, you will see more than one course.
If you do not see your course link, press the 'sync' button and your class link will appear.

Note: You will only see this screen the first time you click into your section.
Click "I Accept"

10. How to complete work This is the course Home Page
On the right is the calendar you will find the due dates for your assignments here.

11. To begin your work First, click on the “Writing” tab.
Then, click on the “Learning Path” tab.

This box is called a module. Within modules, you'll find the topics you are required to complete for your course.

These are the five activities you need to complete to master each topic.

The Overview is an explanation of the topic.
You must watch the entire Animation in order to receive full credit. If you do not watch the Animation all the way through, you won't get a passing score.
The Animation is a short video about the topic.

15. How to Master a Topic
Recall 1 and 2 consist of 10 multiple choice questions about the topic.
Be sure to click submit after you have completed any exercise.

16. How to Master a Topic
The Apply consists of revising a paragraph using the knowledge you have learned
You may also save your progress for later and pick up where you left off.
Again, be sure to submit your attempt.

17. How to Master a Topic
Hints are available if you get stuck. Taking a hint will cost you a one point deduction from your total score.
Be sure to read the directions carefully!
There will be a one point deduction for every incorrect click.

18. How to Master a Topic Recall 1 still has another attempt left.
**You need to achieve 80% or higher on all activities to master a topic. This includes the Overview, Animation, Recalls 1 and 2, and Apply**

Apply has work left to be completed or needs to be Submitted to access the second attempt

19. How to Master a Topic
Notice all five activities have stars next to them. The topic also has a star next to it. This is how you know you have mastered the topic.

20. MWLP Headquarters
The MyWritingLabPlus Headquarters will not be open this summer. However, we will be open in Fall 2017.
