2 It may be! Follow these steps to make sure you don’t miss an important deadline.

3 Step 1-Make sure you meet the minimum entry requirements for your intended program.
These requirements may include a minimum GPA and successful (C or better) completion of designated courses. If you don’t meet these requirements, your application will be rejected. If your application meets the minimum requirements, most programs will also require a minimum score on the preadmission exam. This exam is scheduled AFTER the application is screened by the Admissions Department. Entry requirements differ from courses required in the program curriculum. For instance, BIOL 109, 110 and 241 are required as part of the Nursing Program curriculum. However, you do not need to complete those courses before applying to the program. Review the following slides to determine the minimum entry requirements of the program you are interested in.

4 Nursing To apply to the program, students must have:
a high school diploma or GED completed high school Biology (or BIOL 106 or STS 101) with at least a C within the past 10 years completed high school Chemistry (or CHEM 110 or STS 101) with at least a C within the past 10 years a Math level of at least readiness for FNMT 118 an English level of at least readiness for English 101 a college GPA of at least 2.75

5 Dental Hygiene To apply to the program, students must have:
a high school diploma or GED completed high school Biology (or college Biology) with at least a C within the past 10 years completed high school Chemistry (or college Chemistry) with at least a C within the past 10 years a Math level of at least readiness for FNMT 118 an English level of at least readiness for English 101 a college GPA of at least 2.50

6 Diagnostic Medical Imaging
To apply to the program, students must have: a high school diploma or GED completed high school Biology (or college Biology) with at least a C within the past 10 years completed high school Algebra or FNMT 118 with at least a C an English level of at least readiness for English 101 a college GPA of at least 2.50

7 Health Services Management
To transfer into the program, students must have: a high school diploma or GED a Math level of at least readiness for FNMT 118 an English level of at least readiness for English 101 a college GPA of at least 2.0

8 Medical Lab Technician
To apply to the program, students must have: a high school diploma or GED completed high school Biology (or college Biology) with at least a C within the past 10 years completed high school Chemistry (or college Chemistry) with at least a C within the past 10 years a Math level of at least readiness for FNMT 118 an English level of at least readiness for English 101 a college GPA of at least 2.25

9 Respiratory Care Technology
To apply to the program, students must have: a high school diploma or GED completed Biology 109 within the past 10 years Completed high school Algebra within the past 10 years or readiness for FNMT 118 a college GPA of at least 3.0

10 Step 2-Make sure you know the application deadline for your intended program.
The application period for health career programs varies by program. The Nursing program has extended its deadline to January 31st. Applications will not be accepted after that date. The Medical Laboratory Technician program has a priority deadline of March 1st.* The Dental Hygiene program has a deadline of March 1st or until the class is full. The DMI program has a priority deadline of January 1st.* The Health Services Management has no deadline. You may change your curriculum to Health Services Management at any point. The Respiratory care Program has a priority deadline of March 1st.* *Applications received before the priority deadline will be reviewed first.

11 Step 3-If you have met the application requirements, submit your application before the deadline!
Go to the Counseling Center to pick up your application packet. Speak with a Health Careers Counselor about your intended program and the application process. Submit your application in full before the deadline!
