People start communities in places where physical features are enjoyable and possible.
People start communities close to rivers and streams
People start communities where natural resources provide food and supplies for housing

7. Who controls the land? The National Government owns 60% of Utahs land
National Parks: owned by the Government
State Parks: Owned by the state
Congress sets aside wilderness areas to preserve the beauty of our state. No motorized vehicles, building, or mining is allowed on these lands.
