4 How do physical features of Utah affect people?
People start communities in places where physical features are enjoyable and possible. People start communities close to rivers and streams People start communities where natural resources provide food and supplies for housing

5 How the environment affects humans:
Natural Disasters (forest fires, floods, storms, etc.) The climate and weather (snow/rain) Fashion? Where/how we travel (planes, roads through canyons, etc.) HUMANS ARE NOT INVINCIBLE How the environment affects humans:

Recreation (camping, boating, hiking) Building houses, buildings, roads, etc. Water parks, amusement parks Pollution (inversion) Symbols, advertisements Accidental destruction How people affect the environment:

7 Who controls the land? The National Government owns 60% of Utahs land
National Parks: owned by the Government State Parks: Owned by the state Congress sets aside wilderness areas to preserve the beauty of our state. No motorized vehicles, building, or mining is allowed on these lands.
