9 Paul Clarkson Paul is Clinical-Academic Doctoral Fellow, working as a physiotherapist while undertaking his PhD. His research interests are around skin health and in particular the prevention of pressure ulcers through a multi-disciplinary approach. 10 Charlotte Brooks Lotty is a clinical academic doctoral research fellow and works clinically as an occupational therapist in Solent NHS Trust, Portsmouth. Her research is about the development of health literacy (ability to access, understand and use health information) in older adults. 11 Nuno Tavares Nuno is originally from Portugal and is a clinical academic doctoral research fellow working as a Staff Nurse in in Portsmouth. His research study will involve looking at conversations about long-term supportive care between patients with COPD and healthcare professionals. 13 What is the application process?
All applications are completed online and there is a Postgraduate Application Guide The steps will involve Login or if new user create login ID Fill in application details via application checklist Upload supporting documents (including personal statement, research proposal for doctoral programmes, two referees, and education evidence) Submit application Use online tracking to track the progress of your application. 13

14 How do I prepare my application?
What are the entry requirements? Each programme will have a specific set of entry requirements For example, the PhD requirements are: Upper second class honours degree or higher or a higher degree in a health-related subject (or equivalent). Satisfactory academic references A satisfactory standard of English Language if English is not your first language An outline research proposal which fits the research interests of the Faculty (there are specific expectations for different pathways)

15 Do I need to complete a Research Proposal?
Individual Sponsorship You will be required to develop a research proposal Will need to relate to the Faculty research strategy/groups We can help you with the process! Self-funded

16 What documents will I need?
At the application stage you will need: Two academic references Degree transcripts (if you have them) Degree certificates (if you have them) A conditional offer can be made if you are waiting for degree results!!
