MathXL® Student Overview QRB/501
Pearson’s MathXL® is an online resource that generates homework assignments and test questions that align with the text. This presentation outlines how to navigate and use the features available to you in MathXL® .

MathXL®: Getting Started
To get started, click Course Home. Click Browser Check to make sure you can view the course Click How to Enter Answers to learn how students will enter answers with math notation

Weekly Assignments: Overview
Click Homework and Tests to view the weekly assignments. Under the Assignment column you will see your weekly assignments. It is important to note that you will complete a Practice Set each week as preparation for the weekly Quiz assigned later in the week. Quiz: This is your weekly quiz to demonstrate your understanding of the content covered in weekly Practice Set. Final Exam: This is your Final Exam for the course and you will have 1 attempt and 180 min to complete the exam.

Reviewing your MathXL® Results
You may review your homework and quizzes by using the Results button on the course menu. Be aware that accessing your assignment through the Homework and Tests button may alter your score. If you change your homework past the due date, late penalties may apply. Use the Study Plan if you want extra practice and review your work using the Results button.

Weekly Study Plan (Optional)
The study plan is an optional feature in MathXL® and is a great for additional practice. Note: The study plan is not a requirement for this course but you are encouraged to review the topics that are covered in your chapter readings. You will not receive credit for your work in the study plan but by working on the study plan you increase your chance of success in the course by gaining a better understanding of the mathematical concepts.

Weekly Study Plan Practice (Optional)
The steps below outlines how to access the additional practice available in the study plan. The study plan is organized by chapter and aligns to the objectives covered in your chapter readings. Use the study plan for additional practice and to prepare for your final exam. Click on the Study Plan link to access your study plan. Click the View all chapters link to find the topics covered by your chapter readings. Click the plus sign (+) to view all of the topics for that chapter. Click on to work on practice problems. Click on to see the progress you have made toward understanding the topic.

Grading for MathXL® The score in MathXL® reflects only the assignments completed using MathXL®. This score does not include answers to discussion questions, participation, assignments, and other exercises submitted in the classroom. Please refer to your weekly feedback for your course grade. You will complete your final examination in MathXL®. You will have 1 attempt and 180 minutes to complete the final examination.
