2. Once the Notice of Intent to file charges is served to the secretary…
Secretaries, your most important 5 days begins.
Immediately, the secretary serves a copy of the notice to the accused.

4. Attendance at the mediation session
The Mediator must immediately contact the accused and the accuser to arrange a date for mediation.

No record of the contents of the mediation will be made or used in the Local Forum

5. If the dispute does not get resolved in mediation
These next steps will occur over the next 35 to 63 days

6. Within the first 10 days
A proper written complaint is filed with the secretary along with $100 paid by the accuser.
Immediately, the secretary must notify the ER, the presiding justice, the D.D. and the District Leader.

7. At the next regularly scheduled meeting
The local forum box is opened by the ER and the secretary draws and records 25 names.

The secretary will send the list of names to the accused and the accuser.

The accused and the accuser can strike six names each and send list back to the secretary in writing.
The ER will chose the first 4 unchallenged names from the list as the members of the forum.

9. The next 5-10 days The accused enters a plea.
The presiding Judge sets the preliminary hearing date.

10. Secretaries and ER’s need to read Chapter 8
Presiding Justice needs to read Chapter 8 and 9 and the Courts of the Order.

Pull 25 names from the local forum box
Inform the ER and send a copy of the complaint to the Accused
Send the list of names to the Accused and the Accuser
2 days
The Accuser has 10 days to Properly file charges and pay $100 to the Secretary
Contact Mediator
Accused and the Accuser strike 6 names each and return the list to the Secretary
Mediator meets with the Accused and the Accuser
ER appoints the first 4 of the unchallenged names as the jury
If NOT Settled
Secretary notifies the jury and the presiding justice
