3 Calice SiW Future plans
Prototype tests completed successfully in June Minor modifications for VFE-PCB and CaliceEcalReadoutCards identified VFE-PCB released for production in July See talk by B. Bouquet CERC redesign was finalised in August Production boards being sent out for fabrication next week Three week turnaround; start testing by end of September ECAL system tests from October onwards Initially at least 10 layers in cosmic teststand at Ecole Polytechnique DESY ECAL electron beam test from November onwards Initially using first 10 layers Build up over several months to full 30 layer ECAL Beam tests with HCAL(s) in hadron beams from 2005 onwards 03/09/2004 P. Daucey

7 LCcal Test beam results: Si Pad two particle separation
PH @ 2X0 In the next few slides I would like to show you the capability of our setup to record 3D images of the shower development within the calorimeter. In this first example the forward strips tracker triggered two particles impinging on the detectors and the two showers produced can be easily separated. Both in the lego as well in the box plot the 3d image on the 1st and on the 2nd layer is presented. The distance between the two hits is roughly a couple of centimetres. @ 6X0 Pad Pad Tracked particle 30 GeV e- Ghost tracks 20/11/2018 P. Daucey

9 Calice Tile HCAL (new prototype)
38 layers 30 * 220 tiles SiPMs with coax cables 8 * 145 tiles ~ 8000 analogue channels in total Calice Tile HCAL (new prototype) SiPM 1 m2 with 220 tiles Aim at common design for HCAL and tail catcher (~350 channels) 20/11/2018 F. Sefkov

11 Design for DHCAL* using Triple GEM
Embeded onboard readout Ground to avoid cross-talk Progress on understanding prototype signals and associated crosstalk. Progress on large-scale GEM active layers. Working with ANL/Fermilab on readout electronics (GEM mods to RPC design). Working with 3M Corp. on GEM foil production. Issue now is the funding/timescale for test beam stack. *J. Yu On behalf of the HEP group at UTA.

12 P. Checchia ECFA meeting, Durham
Conclusions A lot of activityies all over the world QUESTION: Is it possible to imagine a global combined beam test for all ( many of) the proposed techniques? 03/09/2004 P. Checchia ECFA meeting, Durham
