3 Study No home study. Study room. Library/empty classrooms.
6th form café. At home. Google classroom. Year 13 students are full time students – in school 5 periods a day. 1st term is crucial in preparing students for life after 6th form but also for preparation for trial exams in January. There are plenty of spaces in school to study as listed. At home please encourage as always. We continue to use SMHW though many staff are also using Google classroom as well. Leave of absence forms. After Oct half term: students who have completed a UCAS form or had a careers appointment with Mrs Bond will be allowed home study during Block E only (Monday 1 & 2; Weds 3-5). After trial exams home study can be extended to other study periods but students need to be reliable – signing in & out; registering Pd 4.

4 Key Dates University application deadlines.
Parents’ Evening: 22nd November. [JFK Parents’ Evening 11th October] Trial exams: 7th January – 15th January 2019. Results Day: 15th August 2019. App deadlines: 9th October (15th Oct); 11th December (15th Jan) . We will be talking to students about revision & time management in light of 2 years worth of material to revise. AS re-sits we recommend a maximum of 3 but these don’t need to be applied for till after Christmas. Students should discuss with their subject teachers about re-sits. Results Day: 17th August (tbc). Staff are on hand to discuss options if students need that help.

Careers guidance – Mrs Bond. Gap year advice Student finance Apprenticeships Plenty of places to gain information. Monday lunchtimes UCAS surgery in office. We encourage students to do the research. They had a day in June where they were taken through the various options & in particular the UCAS application process.

6 Process for Students Complete online application: Apply.
Academic reference & UCAS predicted grades Pay & Send Agree the school can view application. Make an appointment. 13CD; 13SG; 13LW; 13LG; 15th October deadlines: Miss Dayton 13LR – Mrs Williams Online – Apply. Click pay (credit/debit card only) & send once complete but then MUST make the appointment. Without that appointment their application will not go to UCAS.
