University Information Technology Exam & Research Data Services Remark Exam-Grading Instructions Processing instructions to include students’ IDs and names on answer sheets and reports.

2 Remark® Processing Instructions to include student IDs and names on answer sheets and reports
Notes This option allows blank answer sheets, which can be passed out randomly. The students bubble in their ID number, which is linked to their ID and names for reporting. Using blank forms is recommended for large classes. Answer key and answer sheets have a unique QR code, and can be scanned only once. It is recommended you retain the data for future processing.

3 Choose Class Select NEW CLASS
Give the class a unique name under CLASS NAME.

4 Add students’ IDs and names or…
Note: Adding the address is optional

5 … you can import students’ IDs and names.

6 Save your Class

7 CHOOSE TEST will appear
1. Click on Choose Test

8 Choose Test will appear
Choose NEW TEST Name your test with a unique name under TEST NAME. Select DESIGNER

9 Answer Sheet Designer will appear
1. Click on EDIT HEADER

10 HEADER PROPERTIES window will open
Click box - Show instructions on how to properly mark bubbles Click box - Show student ID region Chose Student ID Orientation – Horizontal or Vertical. Enter ‘8’ for Student ID Length. Click Update

11 Next, click NEW under MULTIPLE CHOICE SECTIONS

12 Multiple Choice Section - Add
Give your answer sheet a unique title. Give your sheet an amount of questions. Note: More than 60 questions will print on two pages. Secondary pages cannot be affixed together or identified, making scanning difficult. We recommend one page of 60 questions or fewer. Click ADD

13 Click SAVE

14 Name your answer Sheet Click SAVE

15 Your Answer Sheet has been designed.
1. Click OK

16 Click SAVE

17 Click on Print Tests 1. Select the number of Blank Copies needed (Your class size plus one Key) 2. Click on PRINT

18 The Key is created by using one answer sheet, bubbling in zeros in
the Student ID field, and the correct answers in the appropriate response fields.

19 Student Answer Sheet The students should bubble in their UNT Student ID (EMPLID) number, and write in their name for identification.

20 After students complete their exams, bring the completed Answer Key and Answer Sheets to Exam & Research Data Services, General Academic Building, Room 206, for scanning. The data will be placed in a confidential faculty folder for individual processing.

21 Log back into Remark: Choose Class to Process

22 Click on Choose Test Select Test to Process from Drop Down Menu

23 Select Process Tests

24 Click on Process Images

25 Highlight data to process and click Add Selected

26 Data will be moved to Step 3 / Read Images

27 Images are processed… Next, Run Reports

28 Make corrections if prompted to either the Key or Answer Sheets

29 After Corrections, Select Run Reports

30 Export Data and Save Selected Reports

31 Select Reports from drop down menu and export all to desired location.
