2. Cisco Learning Credits (CLCs) What Are They?
CLCs are pre-paid training dollars that are converted to units called "credits"
Each Learning Credit carries a face value of $100 USD and is used towards training with authorized, participating Cisco Learning Partners
CLCs foster learning by making it a default part of every network solution
CLCs are ordered like a Cisco product or service
CLCs are valid for one year from date of activation
Credits are registered, redeemed and monitored in an online database called the Learning Credits Management Tool (LCMT)
Cisco Learning Credits are pre-paid training dollars that are converted to units called "credits". Each Learning Credit carries a face value of $100 USD and is used towards training with our authorized, participating Cisco Learning Partners.
As an analogy, CLCs are like Prepaid Calling Cards. DO NOT compare them to Gift Cards because there is expiration date, and the term “gift” denotes that they are being given for free.

Cisco Learning Credits may be redeemed for authorized courses from our Learning Partners, Cisco Technical Education and Cisco Advanced Services Education.
Training consists of customized, certification, or packaged technology training. Many of the courses are offered via a variety of delivery formats including onsite, classroom, virtual classroom or e-learning.
Learning Credits may also be redeemed by PARTNERS on the Partner E-Learning Connection ( for the few fee based courses available. This site is not available to end customers.
Cisco Live Events accepts CLCs for payment of registration and attendance at power sessions.

They allow the customer to obtain high quality authorized training from our Learning Partner network
They simplify the PO process. When you include Learning Credits at the time of the equipment purchase, the customer only has to write one Purchase Order. They also don‘t have to go back to the CXO every time they need training, for a new PO.
Learning Credits help secure the training budget. When included at the time of equiment purchase, you are helping to ensure that training money will be available for that customer over the course of a year.

The Cisco Learning Locator is a great tool for locating technology specific training, certification training or Learning Partners located in your region.
There is also a chart which estimates, based on technology, how many Learning Credits would be needed to be proficient in that technology. Some people will only want the basics in training, while others will want certifications.
